I focus more on teaching students how to use the language and less on grammar because Chinese grammar is not complicated. Therefore, I focus on listening and speaking, along with reading because listening and speaking in Chinese is not possible without knowing the characters. In addition to learning the language, if the students want to learn about Chinese history and culture, I will also do some lectures, such as idioms and poems, and even Classical Chinese, as long as the students want to learn about it.
I would like to know about the student before I start teaching, how much they want to learn and how they want to learn. I don't push the student to learn and I don't put pressure on the student because I want to keep the student's interest in Chinese. |
