I would like to teach in person as I always believe that language environment and time you spend are two basic elements if you want to master a foreign language. To combine the language and its culture behind is a very efficient way too. Its not the language we are learning actually. Language is just a bridge linking to another culture. Chinese is hard and old. But the more you grasp, the deeper you are into our fanscinating history! |

With my experience as a French teacher for 4 years (qualified in France), my approach of teaching varies as each student has different way of learning. I have developped a fast way of spotting each student's strong and weak point after 2 sessions. Therefore, I can help them to emphasize on the strong point to build up student's confidence and work on the weak point to improve quickly. Generally speaking, I use a communicative and interactive approach which encourages the students to participate actively in the class. At the same time, traditional style exercises are not absent, especially when I instruct student how to work at home. |

For novice, I would teach in english in order to make sure the student establish firm and solid foundation of phonetics and grammar, recognizing basic and simple daily chinese words and pronunciation .
For advance and intermediate student, the lesson would mainly focus on communication skill, mainly focus on speaking and listening, strengthen pronunciation and fluency. |

Chinese is not hard if you know why you study Chinese or your motivation. What I teach student is more about how to learn by themselves in a proper way.Ruin their fear of learning Chinese, develop their interest of themselves study. I do listen to their pronuncation word by word, sentence by sentence and then help students doing repeat practice and following exercises. C hinese is hard if you don't know your own way and why you learn this language! |
