I have both designed my own lessons, and I have used various standard English language textbooks (as approved by Corporate/Bus iness English clients, MOMBUSHO, local junior and senior high schools, and the University of Virginia). I have also designed University-le vel lessons, as well. I have always tried to combine English language/gram mar with relevant international culture and business/tech nological information, in order to make course material exciting and fun to learn. |

i think it is important to adapt teaching approach to every individual. we do not all learn the same way, same speed etc. i would say my approach is to start with some basic grammar and vocabulary that is useful in everyday conversation. i think it's very important to introduce material that is not boring and keeps the students interested, for example reading some funny stories instead of dry sentences. my sister is a professor of slovene therefore i have learned a lot from her and am able to ask for her advice in case of any problems or additional explanation, which is very helpful.
i am no a professional teacher but have studied a lot of languages (latin, spanish, russian, english), including thai so i think i do understand difficulties when learning a language. |
