Simple Present - To be verb
(Negative)


In English, in the simple present, the to be verb can be conjugated into three forms: affirmative, negative, and question form.

In the negative form there are three sub forms: negative full form, negative contraction form (1), and negative contraction form (2). 

1. Negative full form

I am not
You are not
He is not
She is not
It is not
We are not
You are not
They are not

2. Negative contraction form (1)

I'm not
You're not
He's not
She's not
It's not
We're not
You're not
They're not

3. Negative contraction form (2)

-
You aren't
He isn't
She isn't
It isn't
We aren't
You aren't
They aren't

For example:

Imagen

I'm not Pablo Neruda.
I'm not from Colombia. 
I'm not 20 years old.
I'm not a Physics or Maths teacher.
