Sentences and Paragraphs

• A sentence

A sentence is a group of words.

For example:

1. My name is Pablo.

2. You are a student.

A sentence always begins with a capital letter and ends with a period.

For example:

My name is Pablo

A sentence has one space between words.

For example: 

Youareastudent. (Incorrect)
You are a student. (Correct)

• A paragraph

A paragraph is a group of sentences about one idea.

For example:

                My name is Pablo. I am from Quito. I am 29 years old. I am an English teacher. 

A paragraph is always indented about sixteen spaces or 1,27 cm, according to the APA Norms 7th edition.

For example:

My name is Pablo. I am from Quito. I am 29 years old. I am an English teacher. (Incorrect)

                My name is Pablo. I am from Quito. I am 29 years old. I am an English teacher. (Correct)

A paragraph is not a list.

For example:

     My name is Pablo. 
I am from Quito. 
I am 29 years old. 
I am an English teacher. 
(Incorrect)

                My name is Pablo. I am from Quito. I am 29 years old. I am an English teacher. (Correct)
