The title could have been much better.... I'm a native English speaker, know that saying, and was somewhat confused. Maybe saying, "it's so expensive it costs you.... AN ARM AND A LEG." would be better instead of the WHOLE phrase.
Instead of "It costs an arm and a leg", in English we say "You'll have to sell your soul to get it."
