Abata is a pockmark, while ekubo is a dimple. When you're in love, even a pockmark will look like a cute dimple! I like this expression ^^

If you seek a French translation for "having dimple on cheeks is proof of beauty", it could be : "avoir des fossettes sur les joues est preuve de beauté".
