I have a very basic level in Japanese. I want to learn Japanese because I want to eventually go into the JET programme in two years and I also want to work and live in Japan. I have used Spanish in a medical setting and German in conversation. I would like to improve both my Spanish (for professional and personal reasons) and German. I would also like to learn correct pronunciation s for words I sing when I record music. (I sing songs in Italian, Spanish, and French.) At this time I would like to focus more of my time on learning Swedish, as I have a longtime friend from Sweden (originally from Kariskoga, now living in Gothenberg) that I plan to visit soon. He and I have spoken of starting a life together, and learning the language could only help. I would rather show some initiative to learn a bit first instead of expecting him to teach me everything I need to know about the Swedish language and culture. I would like to become proficient in conversationa l Swedish in the span of a couple of months. I am looking for a native Swedish speaker, if possible, since I also want to understand Swedish culture, especially when it comes to courtship, dating, and religion.
