I am currently enrolled in Russian 1 for college. I have wanted to learn Russian for many years and now I am finally able to do so, but in the first week of class I am already seeing that I will have trouble. Since my classes are online my Russian course is a mixture of the Rosetta Stone program and assignments given by my professor. The Rosetta Stone program so far does not seem like an effective way to learn to speak the language, I can hear and understand fairly well, but to learn the correct pronunciation of the words is extreemly difficult.

I am interested in learning Portuguese as both a hobby and for possible use in international business. I am an intermediate level student, based on a language placement I took at a school in Rio after 1 week of instruction in December. This followed previous classes on line and in person and a background with Spanish. I am interested in reviewing grammar and practicing on speaking, listening, and writing during classes, which I prefer to take via Skype evenings or weekends. My wife and I will visit Hungary in 2011 (and also later) to visit friends. I want to be able to engage in at least basic conversation.
I have spent almost a year independently learning Hungarian grammar and vocabulary.
I lack conversationa l ability.
I would like to spend an hour or two per week with a teacher (on-line) learning conversation, supplemented by at least an hour a day on my own.
