I have next to no knowledge of Spanish, although I did take it for a year in high school. Recently I returned from Ukraine where I learned Russian. As a result of that experience I realized that I enjoy languages and have some aptitude to aquire them. I have a few Spanish speaking friends, and want to be able to understand and communicate with them and their families. On top of that there are plenty of Spanish speaking opportunities in the States in general.
I would like to dedicate 4-6 hours a week to formal language study including phonetics, grammar, speech etiquette, and of course conversation.
Patience and attention to detail are the two character qualities I'm looking for in a teacher. Thorough knowledge of the language is obviously important too.

I am an intermediate Spanish student looking to improve my conversationa l ability.
I come from a bilingual family and have also studied Spanish in high school and college, so I have a high level of comprehension , but I have not been able to gain fluency in Spanish.
I would like to learn to speak Spanish so that I can converse with my relatives and Spanish-speak ing associates and also to have a deeper connection to my Hispanic heritage.
I would like to dedicate a couple of hours a week to my lessons in addition to independent study.
