I am planning a trip to Thailand in March, 2006. I would like to learn as much of the Thai language as I can in 5 - 6 months before I visit. I was there 11 years ago. I am a beginner with a small knowledge of Thai. I will visit Thai and American friends there, in Bangkok. I would like to be able to speak a bit of the Thai language on this visit. Most of my friends speak English, but others don't. I'd like to be able to talk some basic Thai on this visit. I know this will make my week vacation in Thailand more enjoyable and rewarding. I would like to take a one on one tutorial class once a week, preferably during a weekday, during the day. I think the most important quality in a teacher is a good balance between patience and motivation

I studied Mandarin for 4 years in college, and lived in Shenzhen for a year. I just came back to the States to work and want to keep up my Mandarin proficiency!
I would prefer a teacher who wants to engage in cultural activities during our lessons. I am on a budget, so the lower the cost the better. I would like to spend 2-4 hours a week on lessons, focusing on conversation, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation .
