54 yr old married man- Living 30 miles east of Atlanta. Both parents Italian but did not teach us the language.
3 yrs ago I started learning by taking a college class on Italian 101 and 102. I took an on line course 2 yrs ago.
I go to Italy every year to visit relatives. I can speak some with fair grammar in the present tense and some past tense. I have difficulty understanding them unless they talk very, very slowly.
I need to get more practice in conversation and grammar.
I do not need to learn more about the cities, history or the culture -- I already love Italy and the people.
I do listen to tapes and occasional watch Italian movies but I need practice talking and someone who can correct my mistakes so I can learn.

I am a beginner. I have been teaching at a bilingual school in Thailand and plan to go back to Thailand in about six months to work for an NGO or non-profit.
