My proficiency level in Japanese is a beginner's level.
I'm trying to learn Japanese because where I work I interact with many Japanese people who only understand a limited amount of English and I understand a limited amount of Japanese. I also find the language to be very interesting and beautiful.
I would like to improve with my grammar, and my conversation as much as possible.
I am willing to dedicate any where from an hour to two hours for my language lessons.
T he qualities I am looking for in my teacher are: patience, understanding , and I want a nice teacher (not someone who will be mad at me for making a mistake).

1. I would consider myself above the beginner level I know words and phrases and have been trying to learn on my own for the past 6 months.
2. I plan on returning to Japan for an extended stay, my girlfriend is japanese and we made a really strong connection while she was here in America as an exchange student. I recently visited her at her home in Kochi for a 3 week stay. The Japanese that I knew really helped me egt around but I wish to perfect is by the summer of 2009 when i return for an extended stay.
3. Conversation, grammar (specifically Kanji)
4. As much time as the teacher would think I would need to be able to know the language enough to survive and be able to have meaningful conversations with others.
5. Pushes me to work, with college and my job I always seem to put japanese on the 'if I have time section' and I want it to be something I work on more.

I am a newcomer to the Irish language. I am of Irish heritage and I have a keen interest in gaining a proficiency in the Irish language. First and foremost I wish to gain a conversationa l knowledge of the language. I am willing to dedicate a fairly significant amount of time (an hour per day, 2-3 days per week) in order to become a proficient Irish speaker.
I am somewhat of a visual learner, but I have a strong desire to be conversationa l in Irish and feel that hearing a (native?) speaker of Irish would be quite beneficial to my learning process.
