I am a beginning Russian language student. I'm interested in learning Russian for educational reasons and am wanting to improve in grammar and especially developing solid conversationa l skills. I am an engineer at the Johnson Space Center and I started learning Russian 3 years ago in college because of my interest in the Russian space program. I have taken two years of classes at the University of Wisconsin-Mad ison and spent the Spring 2007 semester studying abroad at the Moscow International University. I have an intermediate language proficiency level and would like to primarily improve my conversationa l Russian abilities.
I would like to dedicate between 2-6 hours per week for language lessons. I'm looking for a teacher that values the teacher-stude nt relationship and has a genuine interest in teaching Russian.

Originally the idea came from my 8yr old son. He wants to learn Chinese. My children go to school with all different nationalities , so this is probably where the idea originated. I would like to learn the language primarily because I want to know what my child is saying to me. Secondary reason is for business, I am a librarian.
We will need instruction from a beginner level. We can neither commit alot of time or money to the endeavor. My children go to the library after school so the instruction for them would take place there. I work at a different library, in the same neighborhood, so my instruction would take place there. We can only dedicate an hour twice a week, Monday and Wednesday evenings.
We are looking for an instructor that has alot of patience,comp assion and dedication. We want to learn the language to fluency, not just for basic conversation. So depending on fee this will be a long term commitment for us.
