I am a beginning spanish student. I will travel to Lima and Cusco in September or October of 2008. I want to stay with a local family and attend classes part of the days for 3-4 hours or informally with someone fluent in both english and spanish languages. I could stay for 4 to 6 weeks depending on costs. My goal is to be able to speak well enough to travel and ask for what I need and to be able to have friendly conversations with local people. * I have taken a work assignment in Russia for 4 years
* I would think that I need to learn all areas of the Russian language (grammer, conversation, etc)
* I work a 28 day rotation. I will be in Russia for 28 days, 3 to 4 days travel and will be in the states for 24 to 25 days on each rotation. While I am at home I would like to classes twice a week but I need to know if that schedule can be flexible since I will be required to be out of town some of the time when in the US.

I have been to Ethiopia three times for a month each. With only three months of experience there total, my proficiency level is very low (beginner). I want to learn Amharic for career advancement. I'd like to teach there. I need help in everything. I may even need to know how to write in Amharic to be admitted into the Masters program I am interested in. I think I will be able to dedicate at least a four to five hours a week, but I know I need to dedicate more to learn it as fast as I'd like to. I would like some one that knows the dialect more widely spoken in Addis Ababa. And, they would have to be strategic with me so that I could learn well. I'd like to be constantly making learning a 'fresh' thing so that I don't ultimately get discouraged.
