We are seriously considering adopting 2-3 Ethiopian children within the next year. They currently speak Amharic and we will need a English tutor for them when they arrive.
The children will obviously need help in grammar, conversation, spelling, etc.
I can not estimate the amount of time per week, but would rely on the tutor and the progress we see to identify the time commitment.
I would expect the tutor to be patient and kind with the children as they will have quite a challenge adapting to the American culture including language.

Very much a begginer.
Le arning Farsi because I want to travel in Iran and meet the people. I wish to spend three months taking language lessons 5 hours a day five days a week. I would prefer a teacher who is more mature as I'm 68 and interested in chatting on topics during lessons that would interest both of us.

Hello,
A lthough I'm of Filipino descent, I know very little Tagalog despite having taken two quarters of Tagalog at UCLA. I'm a graduate student in Germanic Languages, who is also proficient in French and Spanish and who has reading ability in Italian, Turkish, Latin, and Dutch. So as you can see, I do have proficiency in learning foreign languages. What I do would like is one-on-one contact in order to learn, with attention to grammar and pronunciation .
I have the books Conversationa l Tagalog (Teresita Ramos), Basic Tagalog (Paraluman Aspillera), and Modern Tagalog (Teresita Ramos, Resty Cena) if that helps.
I would also like to begin as soon as possible.

I am very dedicated to my studies. You can take my word that I am serious about doing the best I can.
I consider myself as a beginner for Japanese. I know how to read hiragana and katakana (no kanji) and I can pronounce Japanese fairly well. However, my main focus to be able to do is speak Japanese fluently so I can communicate with others. In addition, it would be very useful to learn how to read and write the characters properly.
All in all, I am aiming for being able to speak, write, and read Japanese. I want to learn this language because I simply have a passion for it. Ever since I was nine, I have been fascinated by people speaking Japanese. Since than, I've study as much as a can (slowly) and that's where it got me today. It's been a dream of mine to be able to speak the language fluently so that one day I can go to Japan and communicate with others. I intensely want to learn Japanese with all of my heart.
My expectations for teachers would simply be three things. I hope that you are very dedicated as I am in my learning, very patience in helping me achieve my goal, and I hope that you are a very kind person towards me and my family. As for the time and date I am very flexible so I would like to discuss that over e-mail or some sort. Time/Hours can be discussed in e-mails. I am a student so most likely I will not be able to learn on weekdays. As for money, I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount so long as it's not too much of a high cost (e.g. $40+ per hour).
