I'm a beginner in Thai. The only Thai words I know are 'Sawadee kha, kop koon kha, nee tow rai & nit noy'.
I want to learn Thai because I love Thailand. I visit at least once a year & would love to be able to speak with the locals.
I'd love to concentrate on conversation & grammar, with once a week classes. My ideal teacher would be someone who knows how to make the lesson fun & can tailor the classes to my needs & learning speed.

I am an intermediate Mandarin speaker with basic reading and writing skills. I lived and worked in Taiwan for 18 months in the mid-90's and have since taken a couple of Chinese language classes (2nd and 3rd year) at Pasadena City College. I want to improve my spoken Chinese and learn how to read a newspaper. I would like to find a teacher who will keep me on a steady pace but tailor the lessons to my needs. I would be interested in in-person lessons, possibly with phone/interne t-conference based supplements. I am interested in using simplified characters and focusing on business-rela ted vocabularies. The person in need of lessons is my daughter. She's only 5 years old e I'd like her to learn my native language which is Portuguese (Brazil). I'd rather have her participate on group lessons if possible. She knows basics and understands more than she speaks.It's important to me and for her because my entire family lives in Brazil and speaks portuguese only, so they often have a hard time communicating with her. Please advise me of someone or some place where she can take lessons; preferably not too far from where we're located (Haverhill, MA).

My work college and I both support NGO programs in East Africa and would like to learn kiswahili to better faciliated our work.
I know some luganda and am familiar with its grammer, etc and also have a very basic knowledge of kiswa.
We would be interested in classes on a weekly or twice weekly basis. If you were able to come to our office in downtown DC that would be ideal
