Hello,
Our 8 year old daughter has had two years of beginning Chinese (Mandarin). We have a 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter who know most of their body parts and some colors and numbers.
W e would like a Native Chinese speaker to teach all of them (although some individual instruction is obviously needed) on Sundays.
I t is most important for our 8 year old daughter to have good instruction.
We envision a session that plays simple games with all of them (i.e. name this body part, color, number. Say hello, good bye, etc.) at first, and then individual instruction for our older daughter (i.e. conversation instruction, and a little bit of writing instruction-- conversation more important). The total instruction should be about one hour.
We have the 'Rosetta Stone - Chinese' and 'Pimsler - Chinese' software packages that you can assign to supplement instruction during the week if you like.
The teacher must be comfortable with young children. We prefer a female teacher because they tend to relate to children well.

My wife is Russian and we travel to Russia every year. I have a very rudimentary knowledge that allows me to engage in extremely simple conversations , but would like to become more conversationa l. Don't have time to learn advanced grammar, just looking to improve conversationa l skills. I'm looking to take one or two evening classes per week.
