I am a Filipina, and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Although I can understand tagalog, I cannot speak or read or write the language.
I would like to learn Tagalog because I would like my children to be bilingual and to understand my family when they speak tagalog.
I need help in grammar, conversation and reading.
I will dedicate as much time as I can - every day if I have to. The only thing is, I have 18 month old triplets, so I will have to study and learn at night.
I am looking for a patient and flexible teacher who is organized and can teach me the language in the most efficient way.

I have been studying Vietnamese for about 3 years now, so I would think my level is intermediate at the highest. I am studying Vietnamese because I am married to a Vietnamese woman from Hanoi and that I will need to work in Vietnam in the future. That is the primary reason I am learning, and I feel that I my learning has leveled off and I am in need of somebody that is a teacher as well as a native speaker. I am fairly confident in my grammar, but my conversationa l ability needs to be improved as does my listening.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher are a strong desire to help me communicate more in Vietnamese rather than English during lessons, a clear Northern accent, and patience.
I am willing to devote any amount of time necessary each lesson, but it seems that between 1 and 2 hours would be best.
