I am a beginning student. I am moving to China in the fall for work and feel it would be critical for me to learn a bit of the language. I need mostly classes in conversation, and if at all possible business conversation. Ideally, I would like a tutor 3 times a week. My interest is getting my boyfriend who is Filipino American tutoring classes. His parents and grandmother spoke Tagalog when he was growing up, and as I understand it-he is quite proficient in conversation. My estimation is he would be a high intermediate or advanced student :) He wants to improve his Tagalog to embrace his culture better, and to converse with his family more adeptly. I think he could dedicate two hours a week to classes but out of class study/homewor k time could vary for his schedule. I am looking for a teacher who will personalize their program for his specific case, be flexible with his schedule and challenge him.
