I am an American trying to expand my horizons and be better able to communicate with close friends and their families who are Indian and speak Gujarati. I would love to travel to India through and volunteer abroad type program and would be fortunate to learn this language before my travel begins. I am very much a beginner and only know a few words.
I would be willing to devote about 7-10 hours a week to this adventure and more depending on what my teacher suggests.
I am looking for a teacher who is patient and willing to focus on conversation rather than reading or writing. Both would be a plus! Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

My name is Jessenia, I'm currently studying abroad in Shanghai, China. I've been studying Chinese for 2 years and I'm considered an advanced student in my study abroad program. I can speak fluidly, but the vocabulary is very simple, I started learning Chinese because I wanted to try something new and I now want to continue learning Chinese when I return home because I have fallen in love with China, an intense love that I cant describe, I want to be as fluent as I can be and I just want someone with a standard accent to help me achieve that goal, but because I'm a student my funds are limited.
