I am a beginner student of Mandarin. I only took one semester in college. I speak Cantonese at home. I would like to learn Mandarin so that I may communicate with clients who speak it. My husband and I are adopting a 3 year old boy from China. We will be travelling in April or May of this year. We have no background in Chinese language and are looking for private lessons for the two of us. Since our travel date is approaching soon, we need to start lessons very soon.
We are looking for a native Mandarin speaker who can teach us how to communicate with our son while he is learning English. We would like to learn basic phrases and words and pronuncicatio ns. We are not particularly interested in learning grammer or written language. In addition, we would like to learn some children's songs/nursery rhymes etc. that would be fun for him.
