I will be traveling to Thailand in the spring and would like to learn some of the language. I try to learn a little of the language of any country I visit. Conversatio n is the main emphasis because I don't think I could learn to write it. Grammar is a very important. Does the Thai language use subject, verb, direct object structure. Also, since Thai is a tonal language listening and pronunciate are paramount in speaking.
Two or three hour sessions per week depending on the cost is good.

My partner and I are beginners, but very much want to learn Chinese. Not clear on the best dialect, but very committed as our business is Finance and we believe the emerging Chinese Financial markets will help our career and personal objectives. We are starting from scratch, but are excellent students and very committed to making this happen. We hope to dedicate 2 hours per week for live instruction and another 5 hours per week to study. We are looking for a great teacher.

I have traveled to Cambodia a couple of times and would very much like to learn beginers Khmer for basic interactions and social converstaion as I would like to return there for an extended period of time for either work or some form of extended stay. I find Khmer to be very beautiful and would like to learn it well enough to be able to get around and have everyday type conversations with people.
I am a fluent speaker of English, Italian and Spanish so I hope I have some proficiency at learning languages though I am sure that learning such a distant language will not be easy.

I don't really have a very specific reason for wanting to learn Spanish. I do travel from time to time (was just in Costa Rica), and knowing Spanish would really come in handy. And I think it could also help me with my job as my company would like to tap into the Hispanic market. I took a lot of Spanish as a child, and even continued my efforts to learn Spanish into my college years. But unfortunately , I never used my Spanish skills once graduating from college... and I pretty much lost my skills. (Although I do think I have a pretty strong foundation for learning.) I would classify myself as a beginner... but perhaps a beginner with great potential to quickly become intermediate! I am prepared to devote as much time to my language lessons as is necessary. I'm looking for a teacher who is patient and who makes me feel comfortable.

My proficiency is as Beginner for Arabic.
My reason for learning is so that I can be a better Nurse and health care provider for Arabic speaking patients as well as to improve my ability to communicate as a person too.
I need assistance in all areas of Arabic language as I have rarely heard it and do not understand any.
I am able to dedicate a couple hours a week to lessons and more time for studies.
T he qualities that I am looking for in a teacher are one who encourages learning and is not a harsh instructor.
