This ad is for TWO LEARNERS: 1 advanced (myself), 1 beginner (my girlfriend). Please respond if you are interested in ONE or BOTH opportunities .
STUDENT #1 (ADVANCED)
I have been speaking Farsi since I was born. However, I speak only with my family and so my Farsi is conversationa l. I cannot undersatnd radio news and when people have complex conversations , I get lost. I would like distance lessons using SKYPE where I can improve my vocabulary while discussing Iranian culture, politics, history, and customs. That is, I want to learn the language WHILE I learn the culture.
I am looking for somebody professional who has a great command of Farsi (knows roots, etc.) and is knowledgeable about Iranian culture (ideally history, politics, poetry, and more).
STU DENT #2 (BEGINNER)
M y girlfriend is American and wants to learn to speak Farsi. She has completed Pimsleur Conversationa l Farsi 1 and done well. She wants to continue but there are no more CDs. We want her to focus on CONVERSATIONA L Farsi, Tehran accent (lah-jeh). She does not wish to learn how to read or write and wishes to do lessons using SKYPE or another VOIP software. She also wants to learn about Iranian culture while learning the language.
She is looking for somebody professional, courteous, patient, yet skilled.
T he teacher MUST have access to a STABLE, HIGH-SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION so the quality of the connection is good. Also, it would be helpful if you have experience using Skype so when there are technical problems, you can solve them.
