I lived in Japan for 5 years during which time I developed intermediate language skills. I've never studied Japanese in a formal setting...alw ays on my own using books, tapes, and so forth.
I'd like to continue studying Japanese as it seems a shame to let what abilitities I have go to waste through lack of use. Also, I do plan on returning to Japan in the next 2 years and I'm sure my time would be more enjoyable if I have a stronger grasp of the spoken language. Speaking of which, while I can read Hiragana and Katakana, I have no interest in learning Kanji. I want to be at a high level in conversationa l Japanese. The written language is of no interest to me.
As to the amount of time I am able to invest in studying, I'd say 1 face-to-face meeting per week and then 1 hour a night of self study going over the material we convered in the one-on-one.
I'm looking for an experienced teacher. One knowledgeable in preparing level-appropr iate lessons.

I am currently doing more China related business and would like to learn to speak fluent Mandarin. I am first generation Chinese, my parents speak Toi-San which is not spoken in the business world or most anywhere in China. It would be easier for me to learn Cantonese as it is more similar to the Toi-San dialect, but from a business prospective Mandarin would be most useful.
I am looking for a teacher who is proficient in proper, and business communication . I am not currently interested in learning to read, I would like to focus on speaking skills.
I have flexible time right now so I would like to dedicate as much time as possible. I would be at beginner level.

I`m a teacher in my own country and i had studied English more than 10 years. I`m 21 years-old and I`m an au pair. i`m interested in take classes to get some credits cause I need some credits hours that are from a college cause the programm requires it.
