I have no previous Arabic knowledge. I would like to learn the language because I am an International Studies major at the Ohio State University. I want to learn all aspects of the language from grammar to conversation and even cultural aspects about the Middle East region. I will dedicate as much time as needed to master this language. I would ultimately like to travel abroad to study the language in the home land but I believe I should have solid background knowledge before I go.

I have studied Icelandic on my own for about 3 years. I have gone through Daisy L. Neijmann's Colloquial Icelandic and have a computer dictionary and other computerized resources. I feel I need some more formalized training and help with conversation particularly. I can spend several hours per week in formal training; I already spend perhaps 5 hours per week on average on my own. I can read a newspaper fairly well. I read Morgunbladid on the Net with help from my dictionary and other resources regularly. I communicate with Icelandic friends frequently in Icelandic via email. I have been to Iceland three times since 2000. I am looking for an experienced teacher who can tailor his/her approach to my needs.
