I am a complete beginner. Although English is my mother tongue, I speak and write Scandinavian languages as well as French. I translate medical research from these languages into English. My goal is to dedicate 5 years to gain a working knowledge of Chinese which would enhance my work. Thus both the verbal and written aspects of the language would be equally useful although in the end written Madarin would probably benefit me more. This is a personal project for which I will be paying, thus my commitment is strong! I believe that one lesson per week (with homework) would suit me. One quality I look for in my classes is an honest and serious approach to learning with a time-line of development.

My proficiency level in Spanish is intermediate. I want to enhance my ability to speak, read and write Spanish for personal growth, since my wife and I will be traveling a great deal to Hispanic countries. I want to concentrate especially on conversation. I have completed both of the beginning conversationa l Spanish classes offered at UNLV, enrolled in the graduate program at UNLV and just last Friday completed Spanish 213, which is UNLV's first of two intermediate Spanish classes. I've been introduced to present and imperfect subjunctive, as well as present indicative, preterite, imperfect, perfect, future and conditional. I feel my comprehension is coming along nicely but these have been classes of up to 20 people so it has been difficult to practice conversation.
I would like to be in a class of 3 to 5 people and would like to have 8 to 10 hours of instruction a week in person and I'm willing to put in an additional 2 or 3 hours a day outside the class. I am very flexible on time as I am retired, but I would like to start soon as I do have trip coming up in August.

Hello, ...Interested in Portuguese Language Learning,...M y first language is Spanish and if i were to take classes for Portuguese i would consider myself at beginner's level. I would like to dedicate classes at 1 or 2 a week. I don't care about Qualities or Sytle from a teacher i can see learning.
