I would say that my Spanish proficiency level is beginner. I have taken many Spanish classes through highschool and beginner Spanish courses at the University level. However, my retention has always been questionable and my conversation level has been poor. My main problems with learning Spanish is forming sentences and verbalizing. I am able to understand Spanish when spoken to me at a higher level than I am able to form sentences myself. My goal is to become fluent or atleast very functional with Spanish. My time frame is 2 - 6 hours a week. I am looking for an instructor who will focus on speaking and less with workbook or textbook teaching because these methods have proved less than effective for my learning style in the past.

My 25 year-old daughter is home for six weeks and we would like to take private Italian lessons together. I have spoken competent, but not fluent Italian for 30 years, having learned with a tutor when I was 22. I can express just about any thought in Italian, but I know my grammer is fair, and I often use English construction. Also, I only have 4 tenses. My accent is excellent.
My daughter spent two semesters studying in Florence last year. Her Italian is probably at the same level as mine (ah youth). Her accent is superb, and because she was a student, she also has a much more colorful vocabulary than I do.
We would like to have lessons together over the next six weeks. Our schedules are somewhat flexible.
