I took French in highschool, but since it has been about 5 years I'm rusty. I'm a literature major at UCSD and proficiency in a foreign language literature class is a requirement. The professor will expect all correspondenc e and papers to be in French so communication and grammar is a MUST. However, it has also always been a goal of mine to learn French so that's another factor. I'm looking for a teacher that understands that this is tough, that as a full time student I have a lot on my plate and patience is a must. This is preparation for the future French literature class so expect a long committment. I have a lack of confidence when it comes to learning a language so I need someone to help me get over my fear.

Would love to be fluent in Spanish (writing and speaking preferably). I would classify myself as a beginner. Took 3 years of Spanish back in high school (1995-1998). I'm just trying to educate myself; basically do something with my life. I know this skill will help me out down the road professionall y and personally. I'm half Spanish, so I think knowing my own native language would be a great idea.

I would like to learn because my family is from Belize, Central America and I have never learned spanish properly. My mother and grandmother thought it was a bad idea in the 70's to teach us younger ones spanish. Now my husband is from St. Croix and he speaks spanish fluently and I would like to be more in touch with my hispanic culture. I would love to speak to my children and help them learn such a beautiful language. I also would like to be able to speak to my mom and grandmother in spanish, it will be quite a treat . Also I have relatives in Panama and though they speak english very well, I would like to communicate in their native language. I would be able to dedicate 4 hours a week and I would like a teacher who is a native spanish speaker so that I would be able to communicate with that person I prefer to learn from a spanish speaker instead of the text book. I do better when I learn one on one instead of the books. The more I speak the better I get at it.

I am a beginner who has been trying to teach himself. I wish to become proficient in Tibetan as part of my religious training and, hopefully, begin working on translating classical texts, as well as serving the Tibetan community in exile in any way possible. I am willing to devote a minimum of 10-15 hours weekly for study, not including tutorials. I am looking for a teacher who has a command of English, is a good educator who can move his or her student along, and has a good sense of humor.
