I have no experience in Mandarin, but I'm very interested in learning which is why I'm looking in this site.
I'm from Mexico and I'm studying my M.S in Food Safety and Technology. My interest in Mandarin is basically because I believe that the Food Industry is continuosly trying to make a break in different markets and Chine is definetly one of the most promising ones. When I go into the market I believe that knowing the language gives me an advantage when looking fot the right job. Besides I've always enjoyed learning new languages. I'm an engineer and I'm fluent in Spanish, English and intermediate level in French.

I grew up speaking Cantonese in my house because my grandparents lived with us and they did not speak English. However, to this day I cannot read or write in Chinese. I still feel that my language skills are very beginner. I can make do with minimal conversation skills but I am in need of increasing my vocabulary and learning to read and write. I want to travel to Hong Kong and be able to make my way through the city. I would dedicate a 2-3 hours per week for language sessions. I need someone proficient in both English and Chinese that has good teaching skills and is patient.
