My father is Persian, now living in Iran; my mother is American. I grew up very American, and am now interested in learning more about my father and his language. I am pursuing college studies and Air Force ROTC, and would perhaps use Farsi in my Air Force career as well. I am a beginner. I am an average student, and so my interest in the language initially would be to understand it and converse in it, rather than to write it well. I honestly don't know how much time I will have or will need to progress in the language once you contact me; my schedule during school is much busier than in the summer; and I work hard at whatever I take on, but I've never learned a language before, so I don't know my aptitude for it.

I am interested in taking sign language lessons. I took them for about a year or two when I was 8. I don't remember most, but I remember loving it. I'm trying to figure out a career. I'd love to do something with sign language. I am a full time student at Pierce college in Puyallup. I can make as much time as necessary for the lessons.

I do not know Japanese at all. I want to learn Japanese because I have always loved Japn and I am planning to move there after I graduate from college. I want to be able to communicate with my future neighbors, understand the music, and be able to work there. I want to learn both grammar and conversation. I am willing to put forth two hours a day to learn Japanese. I want a teacher who is patient, fun, and creative in his or her approaches in teaching. I believe that I would learn better if my teacher is fun and intresting. Textbook learning is okay but if thats all there is then the language will never stick in my head.

My mother and I are wanting to learn the Italian language. We are beginners and would like to learn so we could better communicate with our relatives in italy and because we are planning to move to italy in a few years. I would be able to dedicate as much time possible to learning italian, and my mother would be able to do a few hours a week. We come from an extremely italian family so we want a teacher who knows the italian culture like we do, as italians do. we would prefer for Italian to be a native language of teacher. Thank you.
