I studied German every day for 5 weeks while studying music in Salzburg, Austria. This class was five years ago. I am an opera singer and need to become much more fluent in German for auditions in European houses next fall. I do not remember much grammar, especially cases.
I would prefer to work in a group of 2-4 people, twice a week this summer. I am looking for a teacher who will use conversation mostly . If the group could involve other singers or musicians that would be absolutely ideal----voca bulary could be very relevant then.

My name is Chris Holly, I am a former student of Hofstra University. After taking a few courses in both Japanese and Mandarin Chinese I realized that I loved learning languages and needed more. The classes at Hofstra were very slow moving and I would very much like to take private lessons so I can learn at my own pace, which I believe could be quite fast. My goal is to learn enough Chinese to travel to China, and if possible, live there for some extended period of time in hopes of achieving fluency and a greater knowledge of Chinese culture. I will be able to start taking lessons starting in June and once I figure out my work schedule I'll be able to determine how much time I can devote to private lessons. I'm looking for a flexible, personable teacher who can help me learn Chinese as quickly as I am able.

I am looking for a tutor for July and August 2006 for my twin 8 year old boys. We are from Hong Kong and the boys learn in traditional Chinese characters. They will be going into third grade in September and the level of Chinese is comparable to that of native language third graders.
I wish the tutor to read stories, discuss, do some Chinese writing and encourage Chinese conversation.
Best is twice a week for 1.5 hrs at our house in Solana Beach.
Tut or must like to work with children and be able to make lessons fun and interesting.
