We are looking for a general course in English as a Second Language for beginners. I am currently enrolled in a MBA program and my wife would like to join a group class to improve her English. Perfect would be a preparation course toward a TOEFL test. She prefers a group course over private lessons because she wants to get in touch with others.

Greetings
I am a 64 year old retired lawyer.
I want to learn Spanish (starting as a beginner)for three reasons. My stepdaughter and her young daughter are bi-lingual (Spanish and English) and it would be great fun, and useful, to converse with them. Second, my wife and I will soon be traveling and I want to have the advantage of being able to use Spanish. Third, Spanish is becoming increasingly valuable to know here in the US. My modest college French lessons regrettably are no longer very useful!
I have made the commitment to learn Spanish. That is not a question. The only question is finding a really good, cost effective course with a good teacher who will be enthusiatic about teachng an adult. And one who will be flexible in designing my couse work. I assume that having a native speaker is preferable but references will be helpful in making my selection.
I should be able to devote time quite diligently to study. I began my search for a teacher today- March 1
