I am a Cantonese speaker who would like to learn Mandarin. My Mandarin and PinYin is at the beginner's lever. I can read and write Chinese without any problems.
The area I would like to improve on is my pinyin and my conversationa l skill. I plan to go to a lesson once a week and spend the rest of the week practicing what I have learnt in the lesson.

I, myself, would say that I am a beginner. I have lots of books and computer programs to help self-teach myself, but I tend to slack off with no one around to help me.
I know my Hiragana and Katakana, and I can read it without stumbling through it so much, but I only know about 5 kanji characters.
I want to learn Japanese because I wish to visit Japan, maybe start my art career there.
I want to learn basic sentence structures and slang. And just more everyday vocabulary I can use.
I have a lot of free time, so I can dedicate a lot of my time to my teacher(s).
I'm looking for someone who will teach me basic sentence structures, grammar, and little facts about Japan that I might not know, especially about the language.
