I am currently a beginner for the Russian Language
I want to learn Russian as I will be travelling to Minsk sometime next year.
I need advice on which books to study and the best method to get started inorder to learn as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Perhaps 3 times a week, tutoring. Studying by myself 1 hour per day.
I would like the teacher to have had past experience in teaching others and is well-informed regarding learning the basics first, so that I can start using standard sentences to convey my thoughts.

I am at a beginning level learning conversationa l Russian. I have a new friend that is working on thier English and I would like to meet them at least part of the way in the communication . I have tried language learning software, but there are nuances that are difficult to pick up from the software. I have a good ear for language and was actually able to pick up about 5 new words a day on a recent 10 day trip to the Ukraine. I am seeking a native Russian speaker, with tutoring experience, in the greater Phoenix area for one on one lessons in both grammer and conversationa l Russian. I am looking for two one hour sessions per week at this time, with independent study time between sessions.
