I am second generation Polish-Americ an and I have always wanted to learn some Polish. I would be considered a beginner because I only know some very basic phrases. I need help with grammer, conversation, everything. I would be able to spend about one hour per week on lessons. I prefer distance learning since I work in NYC and live in CT, plus I travel a lot for my job, so it would be difficult for me to be available for a regular structured classroom type lesson. The main qualities in a teacher are patience and ability to make learning the language fun.

I have taken several courses at the beginners level at the University of Oslo and Folke Universitet. I would like a tutor who will help me learn Norwegian at the intermediate level and help me improve my ability to read in Norwegian. Student at University of Miami looking for language tutor to begin in january/febru ary 2006 in chinese, arabic (any dialect), russian, or spanish. Beginner in all four languages. Have previously taken a year and half of Latin and an concurrently taking ancient Greek. Deep understanding of romatic language grammar. Preferably located near the University of Miami. I am currently take a Japanese class at De Anza College but the professor is teaching too fast and I cant catch up. Another problem is that she doesnt know english very well so most of the time she cant answer my questions and she cant explain things clearly.

In school I studied Attic Greek and fell in love with the language. I want to read my bible in Greek and Hebrew. Another language goal of mine is to read Homer as well. I had learned about half of the basic Greek grammar when I discontinued my classes. I have forgotten much of it, but expect to pick up the concepts easily upon review. I have never taken Hebrew. Other languages I have studied in the past are Latin, Old English, and Turkish. Thank you for your time.
