I speak English Fluently, German fluently, Italian poorly, French was fluent, but is rusty. I feel the language for the future will be Chinese. I've never studied Arabic, but I would like to start learning this summer. I catch on to languages quickly, and I used to be proficient in french. I have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and I'll be starting graduate school for an MBA this year, but I will also be applying to graduate school for Anthropology once my MBA is done. Since my anthropologic al interests lie in Africa, I feel I need to be proficient in both French and Standard Middle Eastern Arabic when I apply. I'd like to have a tutor/teacher at least twice a week for an hour (more if the teacher feels it is better or necessary) for the summer and possibly as often or less often during my school year. I'd prefer lessons in person combined with homework (I LOVE homework, particularly in languages), with a strong focus on all the language methods (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) since my use of Arabic will be both academic and practical. I tend to catch on to writing forms more quickly and easily than listening, with speaking somewhere between the two.
