My husband is from Israel and we travel there from time time. We also have a lot of Israeli friends here, and I feel lost when we hang out with them. I am able to follow their conversations and figure out what their talking about, but I would like to be able to join in.
I have been around the Hebrew language for four years now, so it doesn't sound so foreign to me. Also, I am a native Spanish speaker, so the sounds and pronunciation are easier for me. I would prefer to have an Israeli teacher so I can learn the everyday usage of the language. I am not interested in learning the Torah, or anything religious. I can learn from English, although learning Hebrew from Spanish would probably be easier.
I'm prefer in-person classes, but online/teleph one might be OK as well.

I am wanting to learn Spanish for multiple reasons. I am a Public Health student at Tulane and am most interested in working in Latin America upon graduation. I have the possibility of doing a summer internship in Lima, Peru and would like to have a working use of the language by June. I have two years of college Spanish but am a beginner, especially in the area of conversation and grammar. I am interested in lessons that focus on conversation and proper grammar and am dedicated to learning. I would like to take lessons twice a week if possible. I have Spanish speaking friends who will be willing to supplement my formal lessons with conversation as well.

Le arning Portuguese because I will be moving there with my boyfriend in a year or two
I have no experience with Portuguese, though I have the smallest amount of Spanish and am a quick learner (or maybe more accurately work hard at things).
I was thinking of having a lesson about 1x a week during the week and then doing outside studying/assi gnments, but it is cost dependent - I would be willing to do twice a week if it was deemed advisable based on my goals and was within my means.
I would like a teacher who will push me to learn this language as quickly and accurately as possible, and keep in mind that my goals are to be able to communicate extremely well in a relatively short time frame.
