I have never studied Arabic before, this would be my first time. I am very interested in the Arabic language and would love to start studying it as soon as possible. I want to learn Arabic because I am studying International Law. I want to dedicate at least 10-12 hours per week learning the language. I speak portuguese fairly well, and have basic to intermediate reading and writting skills. I plan to take the Celpe-Bras exam in October 2007. It is an exam for portuguese proficiency to prove that I can study in this language at a University level. I need to pass this exam to beable to apply for a masters degree program in Brazil. In order to pass the exam and do well when studying in portuguese at a Brazilian University, I need mainly to improve my grammer, writting, and comprehension skills. I need to beable to respond and speak about questions related to texts I have read and topics related to culture, politics and literature. I would like to dedicate atleast 6hrs per week or more to portuguese lessons. Of course, I would study much more outside of class. I am looking for a teacher who is fluent in the language and can teach me how to speak read and write at an advanced university level of portuguese.

I have been trying to learn Russian on my own through CDs and phrase books for the past year or so. I have learned quite a bit own my own, but I would love to have private lessons with a native Russian speaker. I am fascinated by the Russian language and would love to learn more about the countries history and it's traditions and culture. I want to become fluent in Russian. I want to be able to speak, read and write as a native Russian.
