I'll be a beginner learning Persian. I only know a very few words of Persian. My father's side of the family and him are all from Kabul, Afghanistan. As I grew up him and my mother were always off and on. I always heard my family members speaking the language, but never picked it up or was spoken to in Persian. I was but only a few words like, 'come here' or 'sit down'. I have a book that teaches yourself, but that's for traveling. I'm still not understanding how to hold an entire conversation. I'll do whatever it takes to learn fast and sufficently. My grandmother who is still alive only speaks persian. She is attending a community school where she has been taught some English. Since my father is passed aways and his family live in Virginia it's impossible for me to learn, hence the fact that I am here in Pennsylvania attending college; majoring in International Business. Hopefully someday I wish to make Afghanistan a more humble country like it was before the Soviet came in and took over in the late 70's.
So, if you are in the area and can help me out your teachings will be greatly appreciated and also contribute humanity.

I am a graduate student in international relations. I have taken two years of Chinese (Mandarin) at the undergraduate level but I have not been in formal language training for over 2 1/2 years. My skills, I'm afraid, are at the beginner level again. I want to take lessons in person and/or online in both Chinese and Arabic. I need focused lessons and structure. I want to find a teacher (s) who would be able to work with me over the next 6 months to one year and would help me become proficient in the language. I am a good student and will work diligently to achieve this. I would like to have a set time or times each week to meet with my instructor. I am looking for an instructor who will work with me and guide me so that I can speak, read and write the language. My reasons for learning another language are:language proficiency test for graduate school, career advancement, possible internship and/or teaching English in area of language, as well as a deep and profound love of learning about another culture. Please contact me if you are a teacher/instr uctor in the Cincinnati, Ohio area interested in teaching an intense language program to a highly motivated student.
