I am a beginning student. I currently have no experience with the Thai language. I would like to learn how to speak Thai because I would like to go to Thailand. I have wanted to go there for years.
I am very interested in the culture of the Thai people and the environment of Thailand. I would like to go to Thailand to teach English or with another group/organiz ation. I would like to leave in the fall of 2006 and I would like to take lessons at least once a week (live, in person) until I leave.
I am looking for a teacher who will help me learn basic Thai language skills. I would like to be able to navigate the country and converse with the people who live there in their native tongue as best as I can. I would like a teacher who understands my needs and is serious about teaching me. I appreciate learning devices such as children's songs, but I am very open to teaching styles. I speak moderate French and German and I have been taught in a few ways. I am not sure what teaching style is best for me, but I am willing to put in hard work in order to learn the Thai language. Thank you.
