My boss and his wife need to learn Mandarin Chinese quickly. They both speak German (native language), English and Portugese. My boss has accepted a position in Shanghai, beginning on October 1, 2005. He and his wife will live in Shanghai. They both want to learn to speak and understand Chinese, but will not attempt to read and write it at this time. They would like to devote 2 or 3 weeks to very concentrated instructions in the Orlando area. The best fit would be a teacher who also speaks German, if possible. Of course, an English-speak ing teacher would definitely be considered. The critical issue is that they will leave Orlando at the end of September and need the training prior to that time.

I am a 50 year old attorney practicing in metairie. i am planning to visit spain next year and would like to speak at least some basic conversationa l spanish. i have been to chile last year and enjoy spanish culture. i speak some french but am a complete beginner for spanish. i also speak a little german. i am pretty good about learning another language and enjoy it. i have been looking to find a tutor in the new orleans area who could work with me to learn spanish. naturally, i have an active schedule but i would be able to make time to do this. i would certainly be willing to devote 90 minutes 3 days/week or whatever similar schedule would work for the tutor. i am very flexible. i would be looking for a tutor who is serious about his/her teaching but fun to be with; a sense of humor would be important. i would like to be somewhat proficient by february/marc h of 2006 when i plan to travel to spain.
