I am originally from Japan (male, 48yrs old), and have lived here in the Philippines for one and half years, working for a Japanese company.
I n fact, I've been speaking English for more than 30 years and used to be a highschool Englsih teacher in Japan, but I still want to be better living in the Philippines, where English is the 2nd official language.
I am also keenly interested in learning Tagalog , systematicall y from the basic grammar until I can read Tagalog newspapers, books and magazines.

I am an absolute beginner in Tagalog but i have been trying to learn a bit from textbooks.
I n January i spent two weeks in Manila at an orphanage, I'm hopefully going back next year for a longer time and i'd like to be able to communicate better with the children and workers.

I am actually looking for a tutor or teacher who will teach my two children Filipino. Although they were born in the Philippines, both my children cannot speak the native language. My son who is 8 can understand a little but my daughter 7 cannot understand mostly. They are both having a difficult time in school with their Filipino subject thus my need for someone to teach them to understand and converse.

I am a beginner. I have no exposure to the Tagalog or Pilipino language before I came to Manila. I am currently a medical student at UST. I need to understand the lectures which are delivered in mixed Tagalog and English and to be able to handle group discussions in Tagalog. I need a crash course if possible for one to two weeks.
