| Description |
Good morning. I'm a Filipino with a Canadian citizenship, my family migrated to Canada when I was 3 years old, I'm now 19 years old. My grandmother visited us in Vancouver and I decided to accompany her back to the Philippines. I'm now staying with her in Cainta, Rizal. I may spend Christmas & New year here. Some of our relatives in Canada & US may also spend the holiday season here. I'm free most of the time and quite bored. I don't want to go out with my grandma as she is always in the company of senior citizens. My relatives are in the provinces and speak Ilokano. I'm afraid to go out because I can't understand what they are talking about. A need a tutor who can teach me and at the same time accompany me when I want to go out. My grandma told me that I can get a tutor for 500pesos/day which is way above the minimum wage. It is not necessary that she/he is a college graduate.

I am wanting to learn Japanese cause I would like to try and work in Japan again I was military there for almost 2 years. I learned a few things while I was there. I still consider myself a beginner. I want to learn conversation, grammar and some more customs. I am willing to dedicate a few hours a day if I have to. I would prefer native speaker cause in my experience there it ismuch easier to learn from the the normal conversation.

I would like to learn tagalog. My parents are from the PI, but they spoke english in the house while growing up so I never learned. I know some vocabulary words, but I would have to start from scratch, at the beginner level. I am willing to dedicate 5-10 hrs per week, depending on how much time my teacher is available. I would hope to find a teacher with a certain amount of patience and I hope to learn more conversationa l tagalog than written grammar.

| Description |
Dear would-be teacher, MY name is Chris Kessler and I am a social science researcher. My institute is partnering with a research institution here in the Philippines and I am responsible for this research project. I do not necessarily need to learn tagalog for my job, but I would like to be able to communicate with the staff not only in English. As 'real business' will be conducted in English, I primarly want to be able to do a bit of small talk with people I meet during the course of my work and stay here in the Philippines. I am currently in Metro Manila, will stay until Ocotober 7th and be back in the Philippines in January next year. The schedule is not yet decided upon, but between January and May 2006 I will spent 2 to 4 month in Quezon City. As I do normally work 'business hours' I would need to attend evening lessons or a somewhat flexible teacher in terms of scheduling the lessons during the day. I am also very willing to learn in a small group of motivated student. As speaking Tagalog is not part of my work, I have to cover expenses myself, which means I cannot pay 'company rates'. I thought of something between 500 and 1000 Peso per hour, depending on class size, timeframe, location etc.
