Even though both my parents were born in the Philippines and I was raised around the language my whole life. I was never taught to speak it myself. I would like to be able to speak my own native language. I want to be proficient as possible and be able to converse on a business level as well.

I am completely 100% new to Tagalog. I have never heard a single word in Filipino. I am taking this class because Spanish was full and all the Asian languages conflicted with my schedule. I am very interested in Tagalog, but I am taking it for a quarter before I can take Spanish. I am looking to spend two or three hours a week studying the language so I don't jump into the class completely blind. In terms of a teacher, I just like nice, patient people.

I'm just a beginner. Trying to learn on my own but with no use. I am learning Tagalog so I can communicate better with my girlfriend and family; also I can interact with others when I travel to the Philippines (If I get permission). I need help from the beginning. I want to dedicate as much time as I can. I am looking for someone to teach me that is good at teaching, wont get frustrated if I have a hard time catching thing, and who will try their best to get me close to being proficient. I am trying to live in San Diego, California. For the next 3 years or so.

I would like to learn Tagalog better as my wife is from the Philippines and we have two children and I want them to be able to speak Tagalog also, I can speak about 40% but would like to be Fluent.
I need improvement in grammar and linking sentences
I can dedicate about 5 - 10 hours a week in class
I am looking for a a tagalog speaking person with the ability to teach Pilipino from start to finish, this is very important.
