My spouses family is filipino (tagalog). I would like to learn the language and interact with them. My spouse doesn't know the language and if we have children I want to be able to teach them.
I am a beginner. I would like to know how to converse, read, and write in this language. I would like to dedicate as much time as I can to learn. The qualities in a teacher that I look for is patience and is able to do a lot of one on one with me. He/she has to be able to answer my questions, as sometimes the questions I ask can be weird.

I am Engaged to a beautiful filipina, I have been to the phils and will be back many times until I can get my fiancee into Australia, she has a 1 year old son already, and she is pregnant with our child. I have accepted that my children will grow up speaking 2 languages and I am trying to learn tagalog so I can further communicate with both my immediate and my extended phillipine family. My Fiancee has begun teaching me, I learn fast and I have a desire to learn. Most of the workds im learning are written, which doesnt help with my aussie pronunciation .
