I am wanting to learn Italian to aid my ability in going to grad school in Italy. I am hoping to start grad school in Italy as early as September, 2025. As a 3rd generation American, English is what is spoken in my family. I'd love to be able to communicate with my relatives in Italy easier, and have a connection to my matriarchal ancestry.
My proficiency level is beginner. In my two weeks in Italy+Duoling o (along with taking Spanish in high school), I have a very basic understanding of the latin based language!
I feel I need improvement in conversation and grammar :)
Id like to dedicate anywhere from 1 to 3 hours a week to language lessons. (I am flexible with a teacher's perspective on time needed to learn best). If you are in the local area of Whatcom County, WA, Id be happy to meet in person!
I am looking for qualities in a teacher that include; compassion, kindness, open minded, helpful, patient, able to reasonably challenge my growth, and a good sense of humor!

My goals mainly include strong conversationa l skills with less focus on the business or career aspect. I am somewhat of a beginner in one sense due to my lack of vocabulary and inability to feel comfortable in major conversation, however, being a native until age 8, pronunciation as well as reading and writing the language comes easily. I am liking to put in between one to two hours per day into studying text, however, I'm open to listening to Korean dialogue for more. In my teacher, I'm looking for a supportive and learned guide who will promote my success.

I personally like learning languages, and I would like to be somewhat fluent in Russian. I speak fluent Japanese and English, and Korean is my native language.
I can only make short sentences in Russian, and I am working as much as I can. I need help in pronunciation and reading the material out loud. Also, I need someone to check my homework also because I work on a book by myself.
Currently, I don't go to school or work until April, so I use all my time except eating and sleeping to studying the language. I am looking for a tutor who record the short paragraphs for me as well as check if I wrote down Russian correctly. I would like to talk to someone in Russian eventually when I know more words.

I am a musician, and I sing a lot of bossa nova and samba material in brazilian portuguese. I have worked hard to try and translate every set of lyrics as best I can by looking up words and by piecing together the meaning of those words, but I would now like to learn about the grammar of Brazilian portuguese. I hope to eventually have a working knowledge of the language so that I can also carry on some conversations with people when we eventually visit Brazil. But my first most pressing need is to understand the songs I am singing accurately.
I can afford to spend about an hour a day on language study right now. I consider myself a beginner, though I have made stabs at Pimsleur CD learning.
I am looking for a teacher who presents the grammar in an organized way, and who is also open to answering questions I may pose about lyrics I don't understand.
Ideally, I would be interested in learning from a native speaker, and most ideally from someone who knows something about bossa nova and samba traditions. I realize this may be a lot to ask. But I may as well ask!
