Explanation:	Lundi est le jour de la Lune, Mardi, celui de Mars, Mercredi, celui de Mercure, Jeudi, celui de Jupiter, Vendredi, celui de Vénus, Samedi, celui de Saturne (on ne dirait pas, n'est-ce pas?) et dimanche est le jour du Soleil! Le lien entre le nom des jours et les planète est plus évident dans d'autres langues...

The word is different but it is the exact same meaning as in the French. I am surprised and pleased at the commonality.
It is also true for all the words of the all the days of the week!
Instead of "jeudi", in Hindi we say "Guru/ Brihaspat"
