Re:speak about history
Hi Elena -
My name's Linda and I'm from Minnesota (USA). It is wonderful finding someone else interested in ancient history. Along with an interest in ancient Egypt, I'm also interested in Greek, scandinavian, and aztec history. I would love to exchange information about this with you. An added benefit is I can help you with your english and you can help me with my french.

Use of "I love you" or "Te quiero"
I recently met someone who grew up in Nicaragua, and I have questions about the cultural differences in expressions of love.

In the U.S. a man usually wouldn't tell a woman that he loves her soon after meeting her (it does happen occasionally) because of the strong emotion it involves. However, my new friend has told said both "Te quiero" and "I love you" to me on several occasions. I am not sure whether to view this as a display of friendship or romantic affection.

I would appreciate your feedback!

conversations
Hello, I am an English tutor who likes languages. I noticed quite a few people want to learn Arabic. This is just an observation. I once tried to study it with a book from a public library, but lach of time cut the effort short.
At this time I hope everyone gets a chance to speak their target language. I am not sure how to chat (voice) online. Do you use skype? Of course everyone who needs to talk, (doesnt everyone?>) should look into Meetups. These are groups of likeminded people who meet in your area. Languages is a big sub-category in the Meetup groups.
