bonjour! Laurence. comment allez-vous? je suis heureuse,parce que tu etudies le Chinois.j'ai 26 ans, et je suis Chinoise.i speak Cantonese and Mandarin. i am currently learning French.but still a very beginner. i am ready for teaching you Chinese, hopefully, you can teach me French.
there are many kinds of dialects in China. so i think "taiwanese" here maybe refers to Min dialect. the pronuciation is different from Mandarin pronuciation.so for foreigners, it is much much better to learn pure Mandarin, but not dialects.
